RO System

We successfully implemented a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification system at Bommasandra Government School, providing over 1000 students with access to safe drinking water. Prior to this installation, the school faced significant challenges related to water quality, posing health risks to students.

Key components of the RO project included:

  • High-Capacity RO System: Capable of filtering up to 500 liters of water daily, ensuring a continuous supply of clean drinking water.
  • Water Storage Tank: Installed to maintain water availability even during power outages.
  • Reject water reuse: To avoid water wastage and conserve water, a system was implemented to reuse the reject water, ensuring long-term sustainability.

Solar-Powered Street Lighting

Solar-powered lights were installed to improve the school’s lighting infrastructure. This initiative not only enhanced safety but also fostered a better environment.

Solar GS Bommasandra

Highlights of the solar project included:

  • 5 Solar Lights: Installed outdoors, at the playground and school periphery, it provides reliable and energy-efficient lighting.
  • Strategic Panel Placement: Solar panels were positioned to maximize sunlight exposure, optimizing energy generation.
  • Community Awareness: Sessions held to educate staff and students about the benefits of solar energy and maintenance practices.
Community Impact and Future Plans

The combined projects have had a profound impact on both the school and the broader community. Access to clean water and reliable lighting has improved the learning environment, while also raising awareness about sustainability.

Feedback from the school community has been overwhelmingly positive, with many parents expressing gratitude for the health benefits and enhanced safety for their children.

Moving forward, we aim to monitor the systems’ functionality and replicate these initiatives in other schools facing similar challenges, continuing our commitment to fostering healthier, sustainable living conditions in underserved communities.
