These Terms & Conditions govern participation in The Golden Apron 2026, organised by Avant Welfare Foundation (AWF). By registering for the event, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to abide by these Terms & Conditions.

1. Eligibility

1.1 Participation is open only to Parent & Child Duos.

1.2 The participating parent must be either the child’s biological parent, adoptive parent or legal guardian.

1.3 The child participant must be between 7 and 14 years of age on the date of the competition.

1.4 Each team shall consist of one parent and one child only.

1.5 Proof of age and identity may be requested during registration or on the day of the event.

1.6 AWF reserves the right to reject any registration that does not meet the eligibility criteria.

2. Registration

2.1 Registration shall be confirmed only upon successful payment of the registration fee.

2.2 Registration fees are non-transferable.

2.3 Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

2.4 Registration closes once all available slots are filled.

2.5 Participants are responsible for ensuring that all information submitted during registration is accurate.

3. Registration Fee

3.1 The registration fee is β‚Ή1,000 per Parent & Child Duo.

3.2 The registration fee is non-refundable.

3.3 Payment gateway charges, if any, shall be borne by the participant.

4. Competition Format

4.1 Participants shall compete in elimination rounds conducted on 31 July and 1 August 2026.

4.2 Qualified duos will advance to the Grand Finale on 2 August 2026.

4.3 The organisers reserve the right to modify the format, number of rounds, judging criteria or schedule if necessary.

4.4 The judges’ decisions shall be final and binding.

5. Competition Rules

5.1 During the elimination round, participants shall prepare:

  • One Dish
  • One Beverage

5.2 During the Grand Finale, finalists shall compete across multiple rounds as announced by the organisers.

5.3 Only the registered parent and child may participate.

5.4 Outside assistance is strictly prohibited.

5.5 Participants must complete all challenges within the allotted time.

5.6 Failure to comply with competition instructions may result in penalties or disqualification.

6. Ingredients & Equipment

6.1 Participants shall bring special ingredients required for their dishes unless otherwise communicated.

6.2 Organisers will provide the designated cooking workstation, basic pantry access and basic infrastructure.

6.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring their ingredients are fresh, safe and fit for consumption.

6.4 Alcohol, prohibited substances or illegal ingredients are strictly forbidden.

6.5 Organisers reserve the right to inspect ingredients before commencement.

7. Hygiene & Safety

7.1 Participants must maintain high standards of kitchen hygiene.

7.2 Proper food handling practices must be followed at all times.

7.3 Unsafe cooking practices may lead to immediate disqualification.

7.4 Participants must follow all instructions issued by event officials and venue staff.

7. 5 Right to Refuse Entry: AWF may refuse entry to any participant who poses a safety, health, or security risk.

7.6 Code of Conduct: Bullying, intimidation, abusive language, or unsportsmanlike behaviour by participants or accompanying family members may result in immediate removal from the event without refund.

8. Health & Allergies

8.1 Participants are responsible for declaring any known food allergies or medical conditions.

8.2 AWF shall not be liable for allergic reactions arising from ingredients used by participants or consumed during the event.

8.3 Participants are responsible for ensuring that their dishes are safe for tasting by the judges.

9. Judging

Judging shall be based on, but not limited to:

  • Creativity
  • Taste
  • Presentation
  • Teamwork
  • Hygiene
  • Time Management

The judging panel’s decision shall be final.

No correspondence regarding scores or results shall be entertained.

10. Conduct

Participants shall:

  • behave respectfully
  • follow organiser instructions
  • avoid abusive language
  • avoid disruptive behaviour
  • maintain sportsmanship

AWF reserves the right to disqualify any participant for misconduct.

11. Photography & Media

Participants grant AWF the unrestricted right to:

  • photograph
  • film
  • livestream
  • record
  • publish
  • edit
  • reproduce

their names, likenesses, voices, photographs and videos for promotional, educational and marketing purposes without further permission or compensation.

The parent or legal guardian expressly consents to the photography and videography of the child for event-related promotional use.

12. Intellectual Property

Recipes created during the competition remain the intellectual property of the participants.

However, AWF may photograph, film and publish images and videos of the dishes for promotional purposes.

13. Prizes

Prizes shall be awarded as announced.

Prizes are:

  • non-transferable
  • non-exchangeable
  • not redeemable for cash unless specified.

14. Cancellation & Changes

AWF reserves the right to:

  • reschedule
  • postpone
  • cancel
  • modify

the event owing to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • force majeure
  • government restrictions
  • natural disasters
  • venue limitations
  • public health concerns

15. Refund Policy

Registration fees are non-refundable.

No refund shall be issued for:

  • absence
  • late arrival
  • disqualification
  • withdrawal by the participant

16. Limitation of Liability

Participants attend and participate entirely at their own risk.

AWF, its trustees, volunteers, sponsors, venue partners and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • personal injury
  • illness
  • loss of property
  • theft
  • damage
  • accidents
  • consequential losses

17. Venue Rules

Participants shall comply with all rules and regulations of Phoenix Mall of Asia.

Any damage caused to venue property by participants shall be their sole responsibility.

18. Child Safety

Children must remain under the supervision of their accompanying parent at all times.

The organisers are not responsible for unattended children.

19. Disqualification

AWF reserves the right to disqualify participants for:

  • violation of competition rules
  • misconduct
  • cheating
  • unsafe cooking practices
  • abusive behaviour
  • submission of false information
  • failure to comply with organiser instructions

20. Privacy

Participant information shall be collected solely for event administration, communication and promotional purposes.

Sponsor Rights: AWF may feature sponsor branding, product placements, and promotional activations during the event.

21. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

22. Acceptance

By registering for The Golden Apron 2026, participants confirm that they have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
