In a remarkable step towards sustainability and safety, Avant Welfare Foundation successfully installed solar-powered lighting at the Government School in Bommasandra. This initiative aims at providing reliable lighting for over 1000 students, enhancing their environment and outdoor safety.
Before our intervention, the school faced frequent power outages, leaving playgrounds dimly lit and unsafe. Our team identified key areas for improvement and installed 5 solar-powered lights, strategically positioned to maximise sunlight exposure. The results have been transformative.
Students can now engage in after-school activities with confidence, and the school is brighter during early mornings and late afternoons. This reliable lighting fosters a better learning atmosphere and promotes safety during outdoor activities.
Community feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with parents and teachers noting the significant improvement in safety. The project has sparked interest among local residents, who are now considering solar solutions for their own use as well.
The successful installation of solar lighting at Government School, Bommasandra exemplifies our commitment to sustainability and education. We look forward to continuing our efforts to enhance community infrastructure and support the well-being of students in underserved areas.
