The health camp organized by Avant Welfare Foundation in Jigani, Bangalore, was a resounding success, bringing vital medical services to an underserved community. Over the course of a week, more than 1,000 residents accessed free medical, dental, and eye screenings.
The initiative aimed to tackle pressing healthcare challenges, offering essential services like blood pressure and diabetes screenings, eye examinations, and the distribution of over 250 pairs of spectacles. Participants were also provided with medications for common ailments and guidance on managing chronic conditions.
Community feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with many residents expressing gratitude for the personalized care they received. One participant noted how receiving spectacles changed her life, enabling her to see clearly for the first time in years.
Despite high demand leading to some wait times, the camp successfully raised health awareness and provided immediate care. This initiative not only addressed urgent health needs but also fostered a sense of hope and empowerment within the community.
Avant Welfare Foundation is committed to continuing these efforts, advocating for improved healthcare infrastructure across Bangalore and planning follow-up camps to ensure ongoing support for residents in need.
